hugh ferris (1889-1962) was an architect without noticable buildings but that`s not why i paid attention. his aim was in drawing perspectives to architects. far before computer graphics you had to do perspectives by hand and not a shiny 3d software. his works from the 1910 progressed at a level where he made a book "metropolis of tomorrow". his buildings were inspired the visions of gotham city (batman) and sky captain and the world of tomorrow. brilliant stuff here in the columbia library and in this flickr set.
