modulations - cinema for the ear (1998)

the full-lenght documentary starts with the monologue of genesis p. orridge (psychic tv) while atoms are splitting alongside a piano to the sounds of autechre. modulations is a 70 min. guide to the cooperation of human and machine created sound and music. the history of electronic music with loads of interviews, in-studio footage and features from robert moog, kraftwerk and afrika bambaata to oval, representing the progression from the begining through motor city, the acid house to modern minimalism, experimental electronica and further. this is a must have to everyone.
