photek essential mix @ radio one 1997

after his recent dj kicks set, here is a set by photek that was aired on radio one around the time he released his first album entitled modus operandi. the whole set is a nice mixture of soulful elements with techy edge that was usual around that time. remember grooverider's techstep/hardstep selections? bukem's extraordinary scifi rollers and killer fader technique? the rise of the jazzy drum and bass that was a huge injection of the latter liquid funk movement of fabio? the metalheadz bombs? well, can't deny, i still love sets from the golden age of drum and bass. enjoy!
