villa amanzi @ phuket / original vision ltd

original vision ltd is focusing on planning residental houses and hotels in south-east asia. the villa amanzi in phuket island/thailand with 6 bedroom, an amazing pool and panorama is a wicked selection if you can afford to pay $2000-4500 a day. more pics

danish pavilion @ shanghai expo 2010 / big architects

this pavilion at the shanghai expo 2010 have grabbed my attention for real (check the rest here and here). the concept and the execution is just amazing. bjarke ingels, head of big architects rides thrugh the pavilion showing their idea as bicycle is the symbol of modern lifestyle and sustainable urban development. the whole building is a 12 m high double spiral. awesome! villa k @ studio ko

the french architects at studio ko made a minimalist house in the open space of morocco where in most cases you won`t see anything else than vast space of desert in front of the rocky mountains of the horizon. the reduced natural design elements are fitting to the environment. well, studio ko is most known by their modern approach to traditions and material selection where they reinvent and reshape the usage of rock. more pics.

cube house by ar arquitetos

clean and simple design from sao paulo brazil. the young couple without children wanted a small house focused on a kitchen so the living is integrated with it. besides that they needed a large house in a small spot with maximum privacy and outdoor areas. watch more here and here. quite cold design that might work in the hot capital.

pedro almodovar`s monument by Enproyecto Arquitectura

the monument built in the home town of pedro almodovar is trying to catch the la mancha as if it would be a camera frame and the stepped form is a reference to a camera focus as well. the red concrete is a wink to almodovar who recognises him with this colour. watch more.

capital gate by rmjm

rmjm`s capital gate reached the halfway of the final 525 foot height in abu dhabi / arab emirates. this skyscraper is special because of it`s 18 degrees leaning westwards which is 14 more than the leaning tower of pisa. more text and photos.

frank lloyd wright lego collection

is there anyone who don`t know one of the best architects of the XX. century? lego took it to the next level again. in august a few of frank lloyd wright`s most iconic buildings will be available in lego boxes for 10+ children. i`m a bit scared of the next generation if they start bulding such a genial plans in their youth. simply awesome, lego did it again alongside adam reed tucker architect! read more and see the whole lego architect line.

peter zumthor won the pritzker prize

the swiss minimalist architect peter zumthor won this year`s so called nobel prize of architecture as several architects suspected. well deserved. why? i could write a lot explaining his houses, aesthetics or purposes but i`d better suggest to read a nice feature on archidose.

flare facade

have you ever tried to make some fancy scrolls on commodore64? do you like pixel animations on phones or even lcd walls in events? then you will definitely love whitevoid`s mobile facade what consists of hundreds of tilting metal flakes that reflects or shades the light depending on the controlling computer. i see how corporates buy new surfaces for their animations. i hope i won`t see any trademarks overhelming whole buildings but we see nice and minimal animations in our cities. brilliant. read more and watch the video and get shocked :)
