fact mix 421 - akkord

well, who else should have brought the mathematical 4-2-1 issue of fact's mix serie? akkord debuted back in january 2012 at rob booth's electronic explorations. the manchester born anonymus crew was blending beats round the house. their mighty album was recently debuted on fabric's houndstooth label run by rob and they revealed their masks. i can't imagine a better start for this year than hearing the bass addict synkro and indigo forging the geometric beats under their akkord pseudo. instead of serving an all-akkord mix, they were scoping the styles for fact mag that has a huge impact on the project. tool, muslimgauze, asc, andy xhin, in short: don't dare to skip this unique set!

indigo was a last minute addition to the r&s records stage on 10 days off festival. liam brings the calm depths and spacious soundscapes on 170 bpm. tricky drum loops, everlasting echoes and mesmerising vibes that attract you like a black hole. top notch set as usual from r&s records's manchester addition.

after months of anonymous activity, akkord revealed its true face early this year at boiler room. if you are not deaf and know the works of the manchester's music dons, you should have realised that synkro and indigo are hiding behind the disguise. i was pretty sure when i first heard their debut on electronic explorations and they brought some fresh and precisely measured mixture of everything to resident advisor. grab the mix until you can (later from ebw) and read the mini interview on resident advisor.

well. i'm not just talking, but doing things finally, so prepare your bassbins for sound system music. years passed without guest mixes, therefor i accepted the offer of tshabee and prodee from debrecen/hungary for their debstep radio show on sub.hu radio. i was trying to find out what dublin and "dubrecen" has in common and we have set a new listening record with that. you wanted the archive bad, now i serve it. expect a mixture of dub elements, electronica and techno/dubstep crossover for big loada bass.

mindset podcast 006 - troy gunner

the sixth podcast of manchester's mindset records was brought by the bristolian mindsetter. just like the previous parts supplied by the head honchos synkro and indigo, the 6th edition is trying to break the boundaries between genres like minimal, ambient electronica and bass music. a continuous flow of string heavy journey in bass with lots of ambient drop outs. pure quality as always!

a few days ago nosaj thing released his second album, so its high time to give it a little push with a live show. preparing some well known snipplets mixed up with the new material, he brought light and darkness into the latest boiler room.

one of electronica's finest, four tet compiled a bunch of old tracks that never hit the surface and made a little compilation of them. altought the atmosphere is hitting, focusing on the technical side, you can tell, they were done at the begining and its no doubt why they were left on the shelves. around the time of producing them (1997-2001), he've already had singles and albums on domino and output. anyway, take it as a compliment to hear some early stuff by someone, who have become enourmus by now. and the cream of the top, you will get them on a free digital compilation and on vinyl! good stuff

the madrid born annie hall lives in windsor and produces music on their homegrown label called detroit underground. guess in what style she is active... at the latest inverted audio podcast she shows her multilayered taste of music by selecting some very nice electronica tracks. before you give it a go, check her more electro fuelled remix for the detroit legend scan7 while you go to a free ride on the detroit people mover.

djrum is one of my all time favourite mood generators with killer styledodging skills and just a few, outstanding releases. his first tracks were released at on the edge and smokin session and found a new home at 2nd drop then. in the current resident advisor podcast he showcases a stunning mixture of open mindness by selecting gems from minimal techno, ambient, jazz and bass music. can't recommend the set enough, trust me. i fear this will become one of my fave sets... read the usual short interview on ra.
